Steve Shapiro returns to Palm Beach Dramaworks after leaving South Florida in 2010 to take a position with Point Park University in Pittsburgh. Before moving to Pittsburgh, Steve had spent 20 years in South Florida, 16 of those as Sound Designer for The Coconut Grove Playhouse, designing over 85 productions and working with such disparate artists as Jimmy Buffet, Jack Klugman, Tony Randall, Len Cariou, Anthony Newley, Bea Arthur, and many more. Other theaters Steve has designed for include Area Stage, New Theater, Actors' Playhouse, The Caldwell Theater, Mosaic Theater and City Theater. Other credits include the Russian language premiere of The Skin of Our Teeth in Novosibirsk, Russia; helming the sound board for the 1995 South American Tour of The Phantom of the Opera; and the score composition and sound design of Allen Ginsberg's only play, Plutonian Ode.
